The British Red Cross has been working in partnership with Co-op since 2015 to tackle loneliness and social isolation. We convene the Loneliness Action Group, which brings together government, charities, businesses and public sector leaders to develop solutions and secure meaningful commitments from decision makers across the UK. We also provide the secretariat for the All Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) on Loneliness which influences legislation and policy-making to reduce loneliness across the UK. Since 2017 we have been directly supporting individuals who are experiencing or at risk of loneliness through our Connecting Communities service. Our Community Connectors work with individuals to provide a range of emotional and practical person-centred support and to help re-connect them to their communities.
