Linking Lives UK is a national Christian charity working with churches and faith groups to initiate visiting/ befriending projects in communities across the UK. These projects bring together volunteers and socially isolated older people through home visits carried out once a week or once a fortnight for around one hour. These visits are often a crucial lifeline to those who do not have contact with others on a regular basis, and they also benefit the volunteers who gain a greater understanding of life in previous generations, and enjoy getting to know the person that they visit.
As a national organisation, we liaise with all local organisations to ensure that our work is ‘joined up’ and that there is no duplication of effort. We provide the necessary resources, training, support and advice to establish projects and our model is based on an approach which has been working successfully for more than 20 years.
