We have been recently funded to provide a service to young people who are lonely.  The funders are Building Connections.  We aim to help young people who may experience loneliness for a variety of reasons, aged 11 to 25 years.  We have started a steering group and completed a consultation of 500 young people asking questions about the amount of time they are lonely, what might be the causes and what sort of help they would recommend.  We are now going to offer 1 to 1 work, small group work and start a campaign to raise awareness of loneliness as a problem amongst young people in schools and colleges. The project has 3 members of staff who will run both 1 to 1s and 2 groups starting in August 2019.
